Historique :	Ce tableau semble commémorer la pose de la première pierre ou la consécration de la cathédrale de Dax. Les évêques pourraient représenter Guillaume Le Boux, qui lança les travaux de la nouvelle cathédrale en 1661, et Louis-Marie de Suarez d'Aulan, qui la consacra en 1755.

Précision_sur la representation :	Deux évêques, vêtus d'une chape, coiffés d'une mitre et tenant une crosse, se tiennent devant la façade nord de la cathédrale de Dax. L'un d'eux tient un marteau, ce qui pourrait signifier qu'il s'agit d'un des constructeurs de l'édifice.
